Professional Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi that holds when the room is full — which is exactly when consumer Wi-Fi collapses.

The difference between domestic and professional Wi-Fi is invisible when three people are connected. It becomes visible when there are forty, which is precisely the moment you need it: the lunch service, the full training room, the busiest day of the week.

A consumer access point handles density badly and cannot pass a device from one unit to another without dropping it. The symptoms are familiar: it works next to the router and not at the back of the room, it disconnects as you walk, and nobody understands why since "the bandwidth is fine".

The solution is almost never more powerful equipment. It is correct placement, several access points connected by cable, channels chosen against the neighbourhood, and separation between the business network and the visitors’ one.

So we measure on site before proposing. A coverage plan drawn by eye produces dead zones discovered after installation, and correcting them then costs more than the initial survey.

What disrupts Wi-Fi here

Broadcast density is very high in urban areas. In a building or a shopping street, dozens of networks share the same channels, and equipment left on automatic settings often picks the worst one. Surveying the neighbourhood changes performance more than the choice of brand does.

The building weighs next. Thick walls, reinforced concrete and metal partitions block signal far more than advertised ranges suggest, since those are measured in open space. It is the main reason for dead zones in premises that are not even large.

Finally, repeated power cuts restart access points and sometimes corrupt their configuration. Protected power on network equipment avoids a category of failures usually blamed on the internet provider.

Frequently asked questions

Would a repeater not do?

Almost never. A repeater halves available throughput and creates a second network that devices switch between badly. It is the most frequent cause of Wi-Fi that "sometimes works".

How many access points do we need?

It depends on simultaneous devices and on the building, not on floor area. Two rooms of the same size may need one unit or three.

Do we need a guest portal?

Only if you have a use for it: terms to accept, contact capture, or a time limit. Otherwise a simple isolated guest network is enough.

Can Wi-Fi replace cable?

Not for what is fixed and critical. A till, a workstation or a camera should be wired; Wi-Fi is for what moves.

Why is it slow when the bandwidth is fine?

Because the problem is almost always density or interference, not your subscription’s bandwidth. Adding bandwidth fixes nothing in that case.

Who can change the password?

You can, from a central administration. A password you have to call us to change is not a password you control.
