Instagram advertising

The visual channel: effective when the product can be seen, and when you have something better to show than a catalogue photograph.

Instagram shares Facebook’s advertising system, but not its audience or its expectations. The public here is younger, more urban, and above all more demanding about form: a mediocre image costs more here than elsewhere, because it is ignored faster.

It is the channel for products that can be seen. Clothing, cosmetics, food, interiors, gyms, property: anything where photography does half the selling. For a service that cannot be photographed, the platform demands a creative effort the budget has to allow for.

The practical consequence is simple: producing the visuals is not an accessory to the campaign, it is its main variable. An Instagram campaign without its own visual material spends on images that look like everyone else’s, and the result follows.

We will tell you when Facebook alone is enough. Many businesses pay for a separate Instagram engagement to reach an audience that largely overlaps the first, when a shared delivery would have cost less.

What we usually find

  • Your product photographs are taken on a tiled floor, under a strip light.
  • You post the same image everywhere, and it works nowhere.
  • Your account has followers and produces no enquiries.
  • Your competitors post three times a week and you post once a month.

What changes

  • Reusable visual material

Visuals produced for the campaign also serve your page, your website and your printed materials.

  • A younger audience reached

A profile Facebook alone reaches less well, which is decisive when your typical customer is under thirty.

  • Enquiries rather than followers

The campaign is set on conversations and sales, not on growing an account.

What you get

  • Native formats

Feed, stories and short video treated as different formats, not one visual cropped three ways.

  • Visual production

Photography and video made for the campaign, at the quality level the platform demands.

  • Shared targeting

The same system as Facebook, with the corresponding custom audiences and exclusions.

  • Arbitrated delivery

We let the system split between Instagram and Facebook when that is cheaper, and force it when it is not.

  • Message measurement

Enquiries arriving in messaging are counted, as on Facebook and for the same reason.

  • Content reuse

Visuals that work in advertising feed your organic posting, and the reverse.

How we work

  1. Assess the material

What you already have in photographs and video, and what is missing to sustain a campaign for three months.

  2. Production

A shoot, or creation from your own assets, depending on what the product demands.

  3. Launch

A small set of formats tested in parallel, on a deliberately narrow audience.

  4. Selection

Formats that produce conversations are scaled, the others stopped — on the data, not on taste.

  5. Continuous supply

Creative wears out fast here. We plan regular renewal rather than waiting for it to run out of steam.

Is this the right fit for you?

This is for you if

  • Your product can be seen: clothing, a dish, a haircut, an interior, a venue.
  • Your customers are mostly young and urban.
  • You can supply or fund visuals of decent quality.

This is not for you if

  • Your service cannot be photographed and your creative budget is zero.
  • Your audience is older or rural: Facebook covers it better and cheaper.
  • You sell to businesses on technical criteria. This is not the context.

What we commit to

  • We will tell you if Facebook is enough

When shared delivery costs less than two separate engagements, we say so rather than billing twice.

  • The visuals belong to you

Photographs, video and source files produced during the campaign are yours, reusable elsewhere without conditions.

  • We measure enquiries, not followers

Growing an account is not an objective we bill as a result.

Who is Instagram right for in Algeria?

Instagram’s Algerian audience is markedly younger and more concentrated in the larger wilayas than Facebook’s. For a local business in Algiers, Oran or Constantine that is a direct advantage; for a company selling nationwide it is partial coverage that has to be completed.

The visual standard expected rises quickly, because the reference accounts your customers see are international. A photograph taken properly in daylight is often enough, but a badly lit catalogue shot is immediately disqualifying — and the cost per result shows it.

Finally, the sale again closes in messaging, often after several exchanges and additional photographs sent over. Being available to reply is therefore a condition of profitability, not a detail of organisation.

Frequently asked questions

Do we need an active Instagram account before advertising?

You need a credible one: a few posts, a clear description, a way to contact you. An empty account creates doubt, and doubt is paid for in cost per result.

Do you produce the photographs and video?

Yes, or we work from yours. We will tell you honestly when your existing visuals are good enough, because unnecessary production is another cost with no effect.

How long does a visual stay effective?

Less long than elsewhere. We plan regular renewal into the schedule rather than noticing the fatigue after six weeks.

Are followers worth anything?

Indirectly: they make the account credible and make retargeting cheaper. But a follower is not a customer, and we do not bill account growth as a result.

Can we use the same visuals as Facebook?

Partly, but not the same formats. An image designed for the Facebook feed works badly as a story, and the reverse is also true.

Are influencers an alternative?

They are a different lever, not a replacement, and they measure far less well. We can coordinate them, but we will not present them as a campaign steerable by cost per enquiry.

How to start

Send us your Instagram account and whatever visuals you have, even unedited.

We come back with what is usable as it stands, what would need producing, and whether Instagram deserves a separate engagement or a shared delivery with Facebook.
