Snapchat advertising

A supplementary channel, not a starting one: useful for reaching a young audience already saturated elsewhere, while the cost is still low.

Snapchat keeps, in Algeria, a young and loyal audience less pursued by advertisers than Facebook or Instagram. That is what makes it an interesting channel, and it is roughly all that should be expected of it: a useful supplement rather than a main channel.

We recommend it in two situations. When your customers are very young and your costs are rising on the other platforms. And when you already have vertical video production working well elsewhere, so running it here as well costs almost nothing.

Conversely, opening Snapchat as a first channel is almost always a mistake: the volume is lower, the tooling less complete, and the time spent learning the platform would be better invested improving an existing campaign.

We will say so plainly, including when it reduces the number of services we sell you. An agency recommending five channels to a business that has mastered none is selling volume, not results.

What we usually find

  • Your advertising costs are rising on Facebook and Instagram.
  • Your customers are under twenty-five and you reach them less and less.
  • You have vertical video that works, and only one place to run it.
  • You were sold a presence on five platforms, and none has measured results.

What changes

  • Extra reach, cheaply

A young, less-pursued audience, reached at a cost that stays low while few local advertisers are there.

  • One more outlet for the same production

Vertical video you have already made works here with no additional creative cost.

  • An honest comparison

Measured on the same cost per enquiry as your other channels, which makes continuing or stopping a decision.

What you get

  • Vertical formats

Running your existing vertical creative, adapted to the platform’s context.

  • Age and area targeting

Concentrated on the age bands where the audience genuinely is, and on the areas you serve.

  • The same measurement as elsewhere

Conversion and conversation tracking, so the comparison is like for like.

  • A framed test budget

A limited envelope and a duration set in advance, with a written stopping criterion.

  • Creative reuse

No dedicated production by default: we start from what already works elsewhere.

  • A documented decision

At the end of the test, a clear recommendation to continue, adjust or stop.

How we work

  1. Check it is worth it

We look at your customers’ real age and your current costs elsewhere before proposing anything.

  2. Reuse what exists

Vertical creative that already works is adapted rather than remade.

  3. A framed test

Limited budget, fixed duration, and a success criterion written before launch.

  4. Comparison

Cost per enquiry is compared with your other channels, not judged on its own reach figures.

  5. Decision

Continue, adjust or stop. A supplementary channel that supplements nothing gets closed.

Is this the right fit for you?

This is for you if

  • Your customers are very young and your costs are rising elsewhere.
  • You already have vertical video production that works.
  • You already run one main channel well and are looking to broaden.

This is not for you if

  • This is your first advertising channel. Start with Facebook or Google.
  • Your customers are over thirty-five. The audience is not here.
  • You have no vertical video and no budget to produce any.

What we commit to

  • We will not open this one first

If you have not yet mastered a main channel, we will refuse to open a fifth.

  • The stopping criterion is written first

A test with no defined failure condition becomes a permanent expense nobody dares to stop.

  • No dedicated production by default

We reuse what exists. Specific creative is only proposed if the test justifies it.

Is Snapchat worth testing in Algeria?

Usage is real and concentrated in the youngest age bands, with a strong presence in the larger wilayas. For a business targeting school and university students it is a channel worth testing; past twenty-five or thirty, coverage falls away quickly.

Local advertising density is low, which keeps the cost of attention down. That is the channel’s main argument, and also what makes it fragile: the day advertisers arrive, the advantage disappears without the volume rising.

Finally, the measurement tooling is less complete than on Meta’s or Google’s platforms. That does not make measurement impossible, but it means accepting less precise attribution, and knowing that before comparing numbers.

Frequently asked questions

Is it worth it?

For an under-twenty-five audience it is worth a framed test. For everything else the money does better elsewhere, and we will say so rather than sell you an extra service.

Do we need dedicated creative?

Rarely at the start. We begin by reusing what already works vertically elsewhere, and only propose dedicated production if the test justifies it.

Is the measurement reliable?

Less precise than on the main platforms. We account for that in the comparison rather than pretending the numbers are equivalent.

What test budget?

Enough to clear the noise, not enough for failure to be expensive. We set the amount and the duration together, along with the stopping criterion.

Can we target by wilaya?

Yes, and you should. Running nationally when you only deliver to two wilayas is the most common leak on every platform.

What if it does not work?

We stop, and we tell you what the test taught us. A supplementary channel that supplements nothing has no reason to be renewed.

How to start

Tell us the real age of your customers and what your other channels currently cost you.

We come back with a simple answer: this is worth a framed test, or it is not. In the first case, with the budget, the duration and the stopping criterion.
