Before the works
An old unit empty for two years, handed over with a damaged floor, a dead electrical installation and no separation between selling and storage. No before photographs were taken: the story says so rather than show a picture that does not exist.
What was done
Asma laid the floor out around the customer’s path: a clear entrance, a lit display wall, the till near the window. The stockroom was closed off with a plasterboard partition on a metal frame, with a glazed door.
The fuse board was replaced, with separate circuits for lighting, the window and the sockets, and downlights recessed into a false ceiling. The 60 × 60 anthracite porcelain was chosen to take the footfall without showing marks.
Works ran at off-peak hours so as not to disturb the neighbouring shops, and the site was cleaned every evening.
