Frequently asked questions
The questions we hear at the counter, on the phone and on site, with answers that state the rule rather than a vague promise.
Orders and payment
Are the prices on the site the ones I will pay?
Site prices are indicative and include tax. Cement and rebar follow a « price of the day »: the price on the day of the order applies, and it is held on the quote for as long as the quote is valid.
How can I pay?
Individuals pay cash on delivery or by CIB or Edahabia card on the payment gateway. Trade accounts can also pay by cheque, by transfer or on account with payment terms. In the demonstration, nothing is ever actually charged.
Can I collect my order at the depot?
Yes, at the Baba Hassen, Oran or Sétif counter, Saturday to Thursday from 07:00 to 16:30. The Bab Ezzouar showroom keeps only a small counter stock: heavy orders leave from the central depot.
I do not know how many bags or boxes to order.
The calculators give the quantities for your dimensions: tiles with the cutting waste for the pattern, concrete, masonry, paint, fillers, waterproofing. The result goes into the bag in whole units of sale, with the leftover shown.
Delivery
Do you deliver to my area?
Each depot delivers to its own zones, from the town centre out to about sixty kilometres. The delivery page lists the towns in every zone and works out the fee for your weight, volume and access.
My street is narrow. Will the truck get in?
Under three metres wide, only the 1.5 t van gets in, and the crane truck cannot put its stabilisers down. Give the street width: the estimator picks the vehicle and splits the delivery into several trips if it has to.
Can you lift the pallets onto my roof terrace?
The 10 t crane truck sets pallets down on a reachable terrace or balcony, if the street lets it set up. With no crane and no lift, goods are carried up by hand, charged per floor and per tonne.
When will it arrive?
The day after the order at the earliest, in one of the day’s three windows: 07:00–10:00, 10:00–13:00 or 13:00–16:30. There are no deliveries on Fridays.
Returns and deposits
Can I return a product?
An unopened product in its original packaging can come back within thirty days with the receipt or invoice. Products cut to order (a worktop, cable by the metre) and mixed paint colours cannot.
How does the pallet deposit work?
Every pallet delivered carries a 1,500 DZD deposit, charged with the order. It is refunded when the pallet comes back in good condition, brought to the depot or picked up by the driver on the next delivery.
I have boxes of tiles left after the job.
Full, unopened boxes come back like any product. We suggest keeping one: if a tile breaks in five years, finding the same lot and shade is rarely possible.
Trade accounts and credit
Who can open a trade account?
A building company, a registered tradesperson or a developer, with their trade register, tax and statistical numbers. In the demonstration these numbers are invented and marked DEMO.
What payment terms does a trade account get?
A trade account can pay at thirty or sixty days within a credit limit agreed at opening. An invoice unpaid for more than ninety days blocks new orders on account until it is settled.
Can my buyers order without me?
Yes: every member of the account has a purchase limit. Above it, the order waits for the manager’s approval instead of being refused.
Lots and shades
Why does a tile’s lot number matter?
Two lots of the same tile can differ slightly in shade or size. Laid side by side, the difference shows. We serve an order from a single lot whenever the stock allows, and say so when it does not.
Can I reserve a lot for later?
Yes: a lot reservation sets your job’s quantity aside from one lot, at the depot you choose, until the site is ready for it.
What if I am a few square metres short?
Order them before the tiling is finished and give the lot number on your boxes. If the same lot remains at another depot, it is transferred; otherwise we suggest the closest shade and where to lay it so it does not show.
Renovation
Do you charge for the site visit?
No. The project manager or the foreman comes to measure and look at the services and the state of the walls and floors. The detailed quote follows the design, with no commitment.
How are the works paid for?
30% when the quote is signed, 40% at mid-works, 25% at handover and 5% held until the end of the warranty period.
Can I follow the job without going there?
Yes: the client space shows the schedule, the day’s photographs, the decisions to sign off by a date, change requests and documents. Any choice that changes the quote goes through a written sign-off.
Can a wall come down during the renovation?
A light partition, yes. A load-bearing wall, never without a qualified engineer or architect who designs and validates how the load is carried.
Tradespeople
Who are the tradespeople in the directory?
Tilers, electricians, plumbers, painters and masons who buy their materials from us and have a trade account. Their profile shows their trade, their area and reviews — all fictional in the demonstration.
Is Qarmoud responsible for a directory tradesperson’s work?
No: the tradesperson works for you, under their own responsibility. For a job where Qarmoud answers for everything, from design to warranty, that is Qarmoud Atelier.
How do I ask a tradesperson for a quote?
From their profile, describe the job and pick one of the two demonstration contacts offered. The tradesperson receives the request in their trade space.
Personal data (Law 18-07)
What data do you keep?
In the demonstration, what you do stays in a sandbox tied to your browser for 24 hours, then it is erased. You never type a real number or address: you pick one of the two demonstration contacts.
What about photographs of my home?
A photograph of your home is personal data within the meaning of Law No. 18-07 on the protection of natural persons in the processing of personal data. It is used only with your explicit consent, to prepare your request, and deleted after 24 hours.
Can I have my data erased?
Yes: resetting the demonstration, in the role switcher, erases your whole sandbox at once. Law No. 18-07 also gives you the rights of access, rectification and objection.
