Questions from the counter
Help
What people ask us at the counter, with the answers we give there. If yours is not here, the ways to ask it are at the bottom of the page.
Ordering and payment
How do I pay?
On delivery, in cash, to the courier: that is the complete path, not a fallback. Card payment is shown but switched off in this demonstration; it is waiting for the bank’s paperwork, and the page says so.
Can I change an order?
Until the lenses are cut, yes: the frame, the colour, a coating. Once a lens is cut it is cut, and we tell you before we start.
A gift card, a discount code?
Both are entered in the basket. A gift card comes off the total; whatever is not spent stays on the card.
Delivery and collection
Where do you deliver?
To most wilayas, by zone, with a price and a lead time given before you type an address. The ones we do not deliver to are named here rather than dropped from the menu:
- Adrar
- Béni Abbès
- Bordj Badji Mokhtar
- Illizi
- In Guezzam
- In Salah
- Tamanrasset
- Timimoun
- Tindouf
And collecting at the workshop?
Free, in Béjaïa, during opening hours. Progressive lenses must be collected at the workshop: their height is measured on your face, with the frame.
How long does it take?
Three working days at the workshop for a pair with lenses, then the transport for your zone. The Delivery page gives every lead time.
Prescriptions
How long is a prescription good for?
Whatever is written on it, most often a year. After that we ask for the new one: it is not for a workshop to decide that your sight has not changed.
My prescription has no axis.
We call before we cut. The order goes through anyway and the lens waits for the call: guessing an axis means cutting a lens you will not be able to wear.
Where does my prescription data go?
In this demonstration, nowhere: what you enter stays in your browser and is gone when you close the tab. The one exception is the photo you choose to send to the automatic reading, which reads it and keeps nothing.
Lenses
Index 1.60 or 1.67?
The stronger the correction, the more 1.67 thins the edge; for a weak one the difference barely shows, and we say so. The journal draws both at your own power.
Do I need an anti-reflective coating?
We recommend it on every prescription lens: it lets more light through and removes the reflections other people see. It protects you from nothing, and we do not sell it as a filter.
Do you sell contact lenses?
No. We mount frames and cut lenses; contact lenses need a follow-up we do not provide.
Warranty
What does the two-year warranty cover?
The frame: a solder joint that gives, a hinge that breaks, a flaw in the acetate. We repair it, or replace it with the same frame.
And what does it not cover?
A frame that was crushed, lost, or left on a dashboard in full sun. Scratched lenses neither — but we tell you what a replacement costs before ordering anything.
Returns
Can I return a pair?
A frame without prescription lenses, within fourteen days and as it arrived: yes, exchanged or refunded. Lenses cut to your prescription are of no use to anyone else; we remake them if the mistake was ours.
And if I refuse the parcel at the door?
You pay nothing. The parcel comes back to the workshop and we call you to find out what was wrong.
Adjustments
My glasses keep sliding.
Come in with the pair: adjusting temples or pads takes ten minutes and is free on a frame we mounted.
I am not in Béjaïa.
An optician near you can adjust a temple. We would rather you did that than post a pair back and forth for ten minutes’ work.
A question that is not here
The workshop’s phone
In a real shop the number would be here. This demonstration publishes none.
Ask Lounja
The shop’s assistant answers about frames, lenses and delivery, and hands over to the workshop when she should.
Book an appointment
Thirty minutes at the bench, for a fitting, an adjustment or a repair.
