Gouraya Optical is a fictional eyewear shop in Béjaïa. Nothing here can be bought: no order is recorded and no payment is taken.

Your basket is empty.

Nothing in it yet. The whole catalogue fits on one screen, and every frame can be tried on before it goes in.

What the shop refuses to do

Four moments where it stops.

Each one is a sentence written on the service page. A demonstration that hid them would be selling something other than what we build.

  • 01

The card is off, with its reason

It is not taken out of the flow: it is present, disabled, and the sentence says why.

    “Waiting on the bank.”

  • 02

An unreachable province stops the order

The flow does not take an order the workshop cannot deliver, however much the customer insists.

“We do not reach Tamanrasset yet. Collection from Béjaïa is possible.”

  • 03

A sold-out line is shown, not hidden

It stays in the basket, struck through, out of the total. A shop that hides what it has not got teaches its customers that an empty catalogue means “we do not sell that”.

“We have not got that many.”

  • 04

    No invented confirmation number

Nothing here writes an order. The demonstration stops before the screen that would claim a sale had happened.

    “This order was not recorded.”
