Come in, no appointment
Every morning, Sunday to Thursday, the practice keeps the slots from 08:30 to 10:00 free. They cannot be booked, through the assistant or at the desk: they exist for the pain of the day, and they only stay free because nobody can take them in advance.
Come straight in during that window. You will be seen by whichever dentist is free, in order of arrival.
What is worth coming in for that morning
The practice does not diagnose at a distance. These are the situations the morning slots are there for:
- Tooth pain that does not go away
- A broken or cracked tooth
- A crown or a filling that has come out
- A gum bleeding around a tooth
- Braces that are cutting in
When to go to hospital
Outside opening hours the practice takes no calls and there is no out-of-hours cover. Pain that keeps you awake, a swollen cheek or a fever needs a hospital emergency department, not a closed practice.
What an emergency costs
An emergency starts with a consultation and examination, at the published 1,500 DA. If a treatment is done on the spot, it is that treatment’s price, stated before it starts.
