The dining room, by candlelight

A hotel, its tables and its salons on the heights of El Biar

A house, a flame, the bay.

A house of 1912 brought back to the light: sixty rooms turned to the bay, a table served by candlelight, salons for the long evenings.

  2. Chemâa’s dining room: stone arches, dark oak, brass lamps and a candle on every table.

    Act II

    Dining by candlelight

Chemâa, the chef’s table: the cooking of Algeria written in eight courses, from the sardines of the bay to the dates of Biskra. The patio, the roof and the pastry shop carry it from morning to night.

  3. The Chandelier Hall set for a wedding: round tables, ivory cloths, white flowers and crystal chandeliers.

    Act III

    Receiving under the chandeliers

The Chandelier Hall has held weddings since 1930: up to three hundred and sixty guests, separate spaces if you wish, and the bridal suite for the tesdira.

  4. Act IV

    Watching the bay go dark

On the top floor the Belvedere pours mint tea while the sun goes down over Algiers, and the lights of the port come on one by one.

  • Calm, beautiful, just right

The « Les Hauteurs » menu is a journey: every dish tells of a region. Breakfast in the room arrived at exactly the time asked, still hot. Already looking forward to the next stay.

  • A lovely family summer

One question to the site’s assistant, and the answer was right. Many thanks.

  • The bay on waking

The pressed orange juice and the matlouâ bread come out of the kitchen in front of you. The staff remember you from one stay to the next. The view of the bay from the balcony is breathtaking, especially at dawn. Many thanks.
