01 · The brief
The dune as the stands
Two thousand four hundred festival-goers a night, tickets sold on Tarab, gnawa troupes from the Saoura to open and DJs until sunrise — the moment everyone makes the journey for.

02 · The challenge
Sand, wind and nine hundred kilometres
No mains power on site, a wind that rises at 4 pm, sand in every connector, and the nearest hospital an hour away on a track: nothing can be improvised once the convoy has left.

03 · The design
Low light, to keep the stars
The stage faces the great dune, which becomes a natural amphitheatre; nomad tents for shade and tea; light aimed at the ground so the sky stays black between sets.

04 · Logistics
Fourteen trucks, two days on the road
A convoy of fourteen trucks from Algiers and Béchar, six generators, cables sheathed against the sand, a medical post, shuttles from Béchar airport and offline access control.

05 · On the night
6.10 am, the sun on the dune
The last set starts at 5.20 am, the stage lights go out as the sky pales, and at 6.10 the sun comes up behind the crowd. The site is handed back clean on the fourth day.
