Wedding · Spring 2026

Two halls, one wedding

Amel & Riad · 450 guests · Algiers

A hall for the women, another for the men, the henna night the evening before and five changes of dress: a big Algiers wedding, timed to the minute so both halls live the same night.

  1. The function hall laid before the guests arrive

    01 · The brief

    Two families, one calendar

Four hundred and fifty guests, two halls under one roof, a henna night at the bride’s family home the evening before, and one request from her grandmother: no stairs between the car and her seat.

  2. Looking down on the round tables and the dance floor

    02 · The challenge

    The same moment, twice

Two halls that have to make one wedding: the same course served at the same minute, the same music for the couple’s entrance, and a couple moving between the halls without anyone waiting.

  3. The mida, the couple’s throne, under the kosha

    03 · The design

Ivory, gold and a mida in each hall

An ivory and gold kosha, a mida in each hall, a dressing room next door for the five outfits of the tesdira — karakou, chedda, caftan, Kabyle dress, white gown — and forty-five round tables of ten.

  4. The procession of decorated cars

    04 · Logistics

    Eight cars, one running order

The eight-car procession leaves the family home at 5 pm, the zorna troupe waits outside the hall, the caterer cooks on site, and one desk drives both sound systems so the entrance lands at the same beat.

  5. The couple’s first dance

    05 · On the night

    Karkabou, then the first dance

The couple walks into the women’s hall to karkabou, the men’s hall lives the same moment on screen, the cake arrives at 11.40 pm, and the planner’s checklist closes at 2.10 am.
