Forty palms and olive trees planted in the courtyard

A school named after a palm plants forty more trees — and puts the pupils in charge of them.

Each primary class planted and named its own tree, with the wilaya’s forestry service. The science club will measure their growth every month and post the figures on the board at the entrance.

Each tree carries a small plaque with the name its class chose. In spring the pupils measure the height, count the leaves and compare with the month before: mathematics and science, in the courtyard.
