Demo — fictional dataNakhla is a fictional school. Pupils, teachers, grades and payments are invented; nothing is charged, no message is sent, and what you do here is erased within 24 hours.

Want this platform for your school?

Algeria Agency designs and builds your school’s site, admissions and platform — under your name, in your colours, with your data. Leave us a way to reach you.

This is the only form in the demonstration that sends a real message: to Algeria Agency, and nobody else.

Our school

A school to grow straight and aim high.

Nakhla welcomes children from 4 to 18, from Nursery to the Bac, on a single campus. The whole national programme, languages to open up to the world, and adults who know every pupil by name.

Our vision

Walking the same road together, from 4 to 18.

A school is judged over time. A child who joins us at four can sit the Bac here: their teachers talk to each other from one stage to the next, their file follows them, and nobody meets them afresh in September.

We want pupils who are sound in the fundamentals, at ease in several languages, curious about the sciences and the arts — and families who know, every evening, what happened in class.

  • The national programme, in full
  • One adult who answers for each pupil
  • Parents informed every day

Why the palm

A tree that grows straight, towards the light.

In the middle of the courtyard stands a date palm planted long before the school. It gave the school its name, and its motto.

  1. It grows straight

Uprightness first: telling the truth, keeping one’s word, respecting others. Discipline is a frame that protects, not a threat.

  2. It reaches for the light

Ambition for everyone: aiming for the best in oneself, not in one’s neighbour. Each pupil has a goal their own size, and someone to help them reach it.

  3. It bears fruit for a lifetime

What is learned here should serve for a long time: knowing how to read, to reason, to work alone and with others, long after the Bac.

Teaching

The national programme, and everything we add to it.

Nakhla teaches the Ministry of National Education’s programme, with its hours, coefficients and exams. The enrichments come on top, never instead.

Ministry of National Education

The foundation: the national programme

  • Lessons in Arabic, on the official timetable
  • The ministry’s coefficients and report cards
  • End of primary, BEM and Bac prepared well ahead

The enrichments

  • A page of a bilingual dictionary, close up

    Four languages, and a fifth

Arabic, French from P1, English and Tamazight; Spanish at lycée in the Foreign languages stream.

  • A laptop screen covered in lines of code

    Coding

With blocks in primary, in Python in middle school, and a project each year the school actually uses.

  • An educational robot arm built on an Arduino board

    Robotics

Build, program, fail, try again — then present the robot at the regional competition in spring.

  • A terracotta paint palette and a brush

    The arts

Visual arts, music and drama, with an exhibition and a performance every year.

  • A covered basketball court

    Sport

Two hours of PE, a gym, a covered court, and swimming at a partner pool.

Our values

What is not up for negotiation.

  • Kind rigour

We expect a lot of every pupil, and give them the means to get there.

  • Respect

For pupils, families, the school’s adults — and for what belongs to everyone.

  • Openness

Rooted in one’s own language and country, curious about other people’s.

  • Transparency

Marks, absences, payments: families see what the school sees.

The campus

On the heights of Algiers, facing the bay.

An enclosed, tree-lined campus a few minutes from Ben Aknoun, El Biar and Hydra: a stone courtyard around the palm, bright classrooms, two laboratories, a library, a gym, a cantine, a prayer room and an infirmary.
